First of all, when you understand how you can improve your brand-building through the power of storytelling, do ask yourself one thing: ‘Why are you doing your business?’ or ‘Why do you do what you do?

Whether you’re working in a start-up or company or a personal brand, what encourages you to go further? When you have the answer to this, that’s when you can plunge deeper into storytelling and get the entire market into your hands. So, let me tell you how this works.

Storytelling is where you connect with your vision and your purpose with your audience.

You tell them what is your driving force, why it is your driving force and how it drives you toward your visions. And when you realize that, it helps you know what kind of a person you are or what your business is.

Whether you take up storytelling for yourself or your brand, which in turn helps you connect with your audience. When you understand which segment of the audience you want to target, for whatever reason you might choose them to be. And when you explain to them why you chose them as your audience, you build an emotional connection with them.

For example, A business coach who coaches entrepreneurs can say that he was in a position where he did not have any guidance as to where to go when starting his business initially and explains it to be the reason why he got into coaching for the sole purpose of guidance, what the coach does is make an effort to build a connection between him and his audience.

So when you have such underlying wishing or when you have a reason behind what you do, that is when you can employ storytelling to build your brand.

What is the power of storytelling in brand building or how it can enhance your brand? Let me give you the top four reasons for answering this question:

  1. Having a story connects you with your audience beyond just a product. You don’t remain as just a service provider or someone who simply gives them results, but you give them a reason to look up to you because you have already done what they still wish to do.
  2. You become a more relatable person to them. When your audience sees you as one of them instead of just ‘another’ person, you can positively influence them.
  3. They’ll never forget you. When you tell people a story, it reinforces in them when they hear a fact. The fact may get forgotten, but stories can rarely be forgotten. The connection you form with the audience as a storyteller surpasses all facts you may have to offer them.
  4. Stories create an emotional connection. They create emotions in your audience, thus creating a deeper connection with your brand. When this kind of connection is felt, your audience is more likely to become loyal customers.

And thus, ensure to always include stories when building or promoting your brand. Your stories are more evident to be on websites, your blogs, the content you create, and across your social presence so that a better brand identity is created. By sharing your stories, you can also differentiate yourself from your competitors and add an element of uniqueness to your brand.

If you have a relatively complex product or service to offer, storytelling makes it simpler for your audience to understand. Because it doesn’t make them feel like they’re trying to understand complex systems. Rather it makes them feel like they’re understanding the person behind the product or service, which are you.

So use storytelling to engage your audience as it ensures a higher conversion rate as people are more likely to take action. If you have any confusion or criticism or query, reach out to me on LinkedIn or Instagram.

I hope you got enough insights from this and that you are empowered to use storytelling for your brand. Let me meet you in the next blog. Until then, Happy Marketing :)
