The Car Crash

--

It should've been a Trauma.

But it isn't.

Infact it was Liberating.

I never spoke about this.

March 20 2018

The day I saw the biggest accident in my life.

Days passed, months passed, years passed

But the Vibe never passes. Every time I travel the road, I see it.

The Speedometer scaling, the energy beaming, the high rise Vibe, while the car hit the side wall.

In an attempt to not hit the centre median, the steering took a steep left and hit the wall.

Due to excessive speed & pressure, it threw up in the air doing a full swirl.

A complete round, and ended up landing upside down.

The speed didn't soothe yet. As the car did a crash upside down landing it swirled bounced again and ended up landing on it wheel.

Uffff! Double twirl. Once in the Air & once in the road.

What a crash!

Except, I wasn't Watching it. I was inside the Car.

Now from my POV:

We were Happy. If i recall correctly, the conversation we were having was: "Saranya, Life evalo Nala irukula", and we were singing on the way.

And in a fraction of a second, I noticed the car going in a zig zag pattern and we thought we were gonna hit the center median.

But to prevent the, we steered left and the Car crashed into the side wall.

It was a loud thud and the next thing I could see was the glasses breaking.

I was in the front seat. Without seatbelts.

The glass crashed and my forehead was scraped by the side beam.

Dust coming from both sides, seats pushing backwards, the front glass pushing inwards - air bag flying out, the car made a full circle.

It landed upside down & flipped again.

All of these in 10 seconds.

And I never closed my eyes.

Instantly as the dust settled, I closed my eyes. And within a second, "SARANYA"

And I opened my eyes wide open. There was a repeated question: "Are you okay? Are you okay?"

I was okay. In fact I was totally okay. Little blood from my forehead and slight scratches.

People gathered around and someone yelled from the crowd: " GET OUT!!! THE CAR IS ABOUT TO CATCH FIRE".

I opened the door and we came out. People swarmed around and they rushed us to the hospital. Seeing the blood on my forehead my friend fainted.

As we went into the hospital, police, doctors and everyone came in.

This was the first time I ever faced anything like this. I think I handled it well. Not sure though.

The events that followed were equally memorable. The whole MY VERSION of the story, the way I created supporting documents for the same & much more.

But till date, the Hype of that ride, moments before the crash, the way dust rushed in & glass shattered, the exuberance of the Crash, the heat of the moment and the scream from outside was just a wild moment to be in.

I bet everyone who saw the debris of the car thought, its riders were dead.

It's such an intense crash. Too extreme to experience.

That incident broke a lot of people associated. That car wasn't ours, for which I'll forever feel the guilt. The events that followed were painful. And it'll always be a scar.

The physical scar this accident left was a slight one in my left forehead.

On the surface & not so evident. But the effect on the soul was deep & distracting.

The chase for thrill, the lengths we would go to feel "high" without intoxicating the body with drugs.

The soul's craving to chase the impossible & get lost in the process.

It's dangerous, it's at times Toxic. It's life threatening.

But - it's Liberating.

It's not a lie if I saw, life ending right before my eyes & felt like I had a rebirth.

Everyone said the same. My Proctor said, "You guys are Lucky you survived."

Those who didn't see the Car thought it was slight, seeing our little scar.

Being inside the Car - I would only say one thing.

Not everyone gets to see & experience a Crash like that. I'm glad I got a chance to experience it without losing my life.
